The IRÁNY a Jövő Party introduces Zoltán Pacsi, head of the Capital Markets working group
As its newest professional leader, the IRÁNY a Jövő Party has introduced Zoltán Pacsi, who heads the party’s Capital Markets working group. Zoltán Pacsi is one of the best-known experts of Hungarian financial and capital-market life, whose name has, over the past three decades, become bound up with the emergence and development of the modern Hungarian capital market.
Alongside the introduction, a new episode of the IRÁNY Podcast was released, in which party leader Dezső Farkas talks with Zoltán Pacsi about capital markets in an accessible way, as well as about the expert’s personal career. The full conversation can be watched on our YouTube channel (see below).
A short professional profile of Zoltán Pacsi:
- He graduated in finance from the Corvinus University of Budapest (formerly Karl Marx University of Economics).
- He began his career at the State Development Bank, then continued at Budapest Bank.
- In 1990 he was founding president of the State Securities and Stock Exchange Supervision, where he was responsible for the regulation and stability of the newly emerging Hungarian capital-market system.
- He took part in developing capital-market regulation and the Budapest Stock Exchange, then, as managing director, led the modernisation of the exchange. The introduction of the MMTS electronic trading system is linked to his name, which provided the technological basis for the operation of the modern Hungarian capital market.
- Later, as secretary of the Monetary Council of the Hungarian National Bank, he supported the central bank’s decision-making mechanism.
- He has worked at a brokerage firm, an investment fund manager and financial advisory companies – thus gaining experience in almost every area of the financial sector.
The professional cabinets of the IRÁNY a Jövő Party bring together recognised experts who believe that Hungary’s economic and social development can only be built on knowledge, transparency and professional responsibility. The aim of the party’s Capital Markets working group is to strengthen the triple principle of trust, stability and innovation in the Hungarian economy.
“The economy of the future cannot be built with the tools of the past. This requires new thinking, a long-term strategy and professional accountability,” said Dezső Farkas, leader of the IRÁNY a Jövő Party.
